MWC Partners Implements Cegid Retail Y2 and MPOS for Cole Buxton

Luxury fashion POS Cegid Retail Y2 installed for British sportswear fashion brand Cole Buxton in just 8 weeks.

Luxury British sportswear brand, Cole Buxton, is a collection of daily essentials for men. The concept was started in 2014 with the idea to redefine contemporary sportswear for the modern man’s lifestyle. With the aim of mastering simplicity through the design value of athletic essentialism, Cole Buxton continues to refine their core garment collection.

In 2020, with the brand established online, founders Cole Buxton and Jonny Wilson decided to create a dedicated physical retail space for their brand. They chose Marshall Street in Soho in London to be the location for their flagship store. The store would provide a platform to allow the fashion designers to communicate directly to customers their values and persona as they grew their business beyond a digital-only business model.

Initially the store went live with a simple POS and payment solution which offered essential POS functionality while the company focused on establishing the physical retail arm of their business. However, Head of Operations, Amar Dehal, knew that the company would soon need to invest in a modern and functionally rich POS system that could serve the business’ developing retail system requirements, and which could also be a building block to support growth and international expansion over the next 10-15 years.

Amar reviewed the POS options in the luxury fashionwear sector and was immediately impressed by Cegid Retail Y2, which is widely installed in luxury and fashion retailers in the UK, Europe and in many countries around the world, and is the go-to POS solution for the sector.

A strong mobile POS solution was high on Amar’s list of requirements, especially following Cole Buxton’s experience during lockdown, when customers had queued outside the store and staff had to bring POS devices to customers. MWC Partners recommended mPOS, Cegid’s omnichannel mobile POS for iPads and iPhones.

It was also imperative that a new POS solution would integrate easily with Shopify, which Cole Buxton use to run their online business, and which they would continue to use as the master system for stock. A Cegid implementation partner with a track record of successful system integrations was therefore also a necessity.

With full confidence in the Cegid product set and in MWC Partners as their proposed  implementation and integration partner, Cole Buxton signed a contract in July 2021, with a requirement that the new system should be up and running in September, in just 8 weeks time.
